About The Nirvana Store

Nirvana is a Seattle grunge band formed in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington, by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic. The band would later be joined by legend, Dave Grohl as the longest-lasting drummer of the band. With only three studio albums, the band rose to international fame with their second album, Nevermind, and the hit single, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’. The band was considered to be the flagship band of Generation X, and were characterized by their abrasive sound and dynamic contrast. The band was disbanded after the death of iconic frontman, Kurt Coabin, but continued to release material posthumously.

As one of the most iconic bands of the early 90’s grunge movement, Nirvana has inspired a great deal of Nirvana merchandise, much of which is featured in the Nirvana store. The bands classic logo, a smiley face with its tongue stuck out, graces much of the bands merchandise and has come to be well known within the music scene. Nirvana t-shirts often feature this smiley face in different forms, and are a classic shirt to own for both rock beginners and veterans. This logo can also be seen on Nirvana belt buckles, as well as Nirvana girls shirts.

Nirvana merchandise includes more than just the smiley logo. A fan favorite has become the Nirvana Nevermind t-shirts, which feature the band’s second album cover. Additionally is the Nirvana hoodie, which features the bands name on a red and black stripped design, similar to the shirts worn by Cobain during the bands active years. Nirvana girls tank tops are also available and feature both the smiley face and a photo of the band during their earlier years.

Although the band is no longer together, their popularity is still ever increasing, as youths are introduced to rock and roll through this iconic band. Their influence has been well documented on subsequent bands, and their success as a mainstream alternative act has since opened the doors for many bands to follow in their footsteps.
